CHAPTER 9 (RIVER COLNE)
BRIGHTLINGSEA (page 61) - text and chartlet -
the F.R. lights on the leading marks have been removed. (Aug 2008) Brightlingsea (page 62) - visitor moorings: The new Waterside Marina at
Brightlingsea has opened with spaces for visiting yachts up to 12m (40 ft)
overall. There is 4m over the cill at HWS and 2.8m at HWN. Depth inside is just
over 2m with a soft mud bottom. Visitors must book berths in advance by calling
HM Bernie Hetherington on 01206 302200. Fees are £2/metre, compared to a
sliding scale on the Cindery Creek pontoons, where a 30-footer would cost £10 a

CHAPTER 10 (RIVER BLACKWATER)

Marina has installed 19 channel buoys through the South Channel, the Leavings
and Woodrolfe Channels to the marina entrance. Key buoys have been lit, starting
with the ECB near Gt Cob Island. Light characteristics will be advised shortly.
Beware that the PHBs as well as the SHBs are conical, making
